Franklin Templeton Canada has announced the launch of a bevy of new funds, each of which is managed by an affiliate of Legg Mason, which was acquired by Franklin Templeton last year.
The Franklin Brandywine Global Sustainable Income Optimiser Active ETF aims to generate income and total returns while protecting against downside risk by investing in units of the Franklin Brandywine Global Income Optimiser Fund, which invests in sustainable fixed income securities. The fund is expected to begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) on June 29.
The Franklin ClearBridge Sustainable Global Infrastructure Income Fund, available now, seeks to deliver income and capital appreciation by investing in equity securities of sustainable issuers supporting infrastructure assets.
The Franklin ClearBridge Sustainable Global Infrastructure Income Active ETF invests primarily in the Franklin ClearBridge Sustainable Global Infrastructure Income Fund and/or equity securities of sustainable issuers supporting infrastructure assets. The fund is expected to begin trading on the TSX on June 29.
The Franklin ClearBridge Sustainable International Growth Active ETF aims to deliver long-term capital appreciation by investing in units of the Franklin ClearBridge International Growth Fund and/or equity securities of sustainable issuers outside of Canada and the U.S. The fund is expected to begin trading on the TSX on June 29.
The Franklin ClearBridge U.S. Sustainability Leaders Fund, now available to institutional investors, aims to grow capital and deliver above-market returns by investing in high-quality companies with attractive sustainability profiles.
The Franklin Martin Currie Sustainable Emerging Markets Fund, which is expected to be available on July 19, invests primarily in equity securities of sustainable issuers in emerging markets in order to deliver long-term capital appreciation.
The Franklin Martin Currie Sustainable Emerging Markets Active ETF also aims for long-term capital appreciation by investing in the Franklin Martin Currie Sustainable Emerging Markets Fund and/or equity securities of sustainable issuers in emerging markets. The fund is expected to begin trading on the TSX on July 26.
The Franklin Martin Currie Sustainable Global Equity Active ETF invests in the Franklin Martin Currie Global Equity Fund and/or equity securities of sustainable issuers anywhere in the world in an effort to deliver — you guessed it — long-term capital appreciation. The fund is expected to begin trading on the TSX on July 26.
Franklin Templeton has also announced the repositioning of two funds.
On July 19, the Franklin Mutual Global Discovery Fund will be repositioned as Franklin Martin Currie Global Equity Fund. The fund aims to manage risk on an absolute basis by taking a high-conviction, flexible approach to investing across sectors, geographies and market capitalizations.
On Aug. 9, the Templeton Global Smaller Companies Fund will be repositioned as Franklin Royce Global Small Cap Premier Fund. The fund invests in high-quality small cap companies that have high returns on invested capital, a discernible competitive advantage and a sustainable franchise.
